Gilmanton, NH ---Mary M. (Heckman) McCormack, 56, of Gilmanton, NH, formerly of New Britain, was received into Heaven after a courageous battle with cancer with her loving family by her side, Saturday, September 30, 2006 at New Britain General Hospital.
Born in New Britain, the daughter of Veronica (O’Brien) Heckman and the late George B. Heckman, she lived in New Hampshire for the majority of her life.
She was employed by the State of New Hampshire as a corrections officer for the past seven years and prior to that had worked many years in the Insurance Industry. She was an active member of St. Joseph’s Church in Belmont, NH where she was a Minister of the Eucharist and sang in the choir. Mary attended local schools, while living in New Britain, St. Mary’s School and Mary Immaculate Academy.
In addition to her mother, Mary is survived by her son John Paul McCormack of Raleigh, No. Carolina, her daughter Natalie McCormack of Gilmanton, NH, four sisters Patricia Portante of Plainville, Maureen Heckman of Cromwell, Eileen Gagliardi of Kensington, and Joanne Heckman of New Britain, six brothers David J. Heckman of Kensington, George T. Heckman of New Britain, James J. Heckman of West Hartford, Kevin Heckman of Rocky Hill, Timothy Heckman of Berlin and Brian Heckman of Pensacola, FL, and several many and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday October 6, 2006 at 10:00AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph’s Church, 96 Main St. Belmont, NH. Burial will follow in South Road Cemetery, Belmont, NH. Visitation will be Thursday, October 5, 2006 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home 164 Pleasant St. Laconia NH using the carriage house entrance and Tuesday, October 3, 2006 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain, CT. A Prayer Service will be conducted after the visitation Tuesday evening at the Farrell Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lakes Region General Hospital, 80 Highland St. Laconia New Hampshire 03246.
