Sanbornton-----Joseph W. Seymour, Jr., 75, of 346 Philbrook Road, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia, on Wednesday, September 6, 2006.
Mr. Seymour was born March 17, 1931 in Laconia, NH, the son of Irene (Landry) and Joseph W. Seymour, Sr. He was a resident of Laconia for many years before moving to Sanbornton forty-eight years ago.
Mr. Seymour served in the U. S. Coast Guard during the Korean War and served in the Reserves for several years.
Mr. Seymour was employed at J.J. Nissens for sixteen years and was also employed at Scott & Williams and at Weeks Dairy. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 633 and retired in 1992.
Mr. Seymour loved sports and was a former Little League coach. He also loved to read.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-two years, Doris (Gordon) Seymour, of Sanbornton; three sons, Thomas A. Seymour of Hill, Patrick M. Seymour of Portsmouth and Michael J. Seymour of Laconia; two grandchildren, Joshua Seymour and Samantha Seymour; a brother, Michael Seymour of Gilford and several nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Ellen Seymour Jesseman.
There will be no calling hours.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2006 at 11:00AM at the family lot in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia, NH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 2 Wall Street, Manchester, NH 03101 or to the American Diabetes Association, 249 Canal Street, Manchester, NH 03101.
