Barton "Bart" S. Burnell

Meredith-----Barton “Bart” S. Burnell, 76, of 133 Powers Road, died at his home on Wednesday, September 26, 2007.

Mr. Burnell was born November 22, 1930 in Portland, Maine, the son of  Ester H. (Hawkes) and Orland F. Burnell, Sr.  He lived in North Andover, Mass. for several years before moving to Meredith sixteen years ago.

Mr. Burnell was an underwriter for the Fireman’s Fund Ins. Co. for thirty-three years, retiring in 1991.

Mr. Burnell was a member and past treasurer of the Meredith Historical Society.  He enjoyed crossword puzzles.

Survivors include his close friend of fifty years, John McCarthy, of Meredith; a sister, Sylvia Butrym, of Barre, Mass.; a sister-in-law, Rosa Burnell, of Windham, Maine and many nephews and nieces.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Orland F. Burnell.

There will be no calling hours.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at 7:00PM at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N. H.

Burial will be on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at 11:00AM in the family lot at West Baldwin Cemetery, West Baldwin, Maine.
