Edwin F. Poynter, Jr.

Alton Bay, NH-----Edwin F. Poynter, Jr., 85, of 6 Donald Drive, died at the Sunbridge Care & Rehabilitation of Wolfeboro on Thursday, September 27, 2007.   

Mr. Poynter was born June 28, 1922 in Somerville, Massachusetts, the son of Margaret (Fox) and Edwin F. Poynter, Sr.

Mr. Poynter received his B. S. Degree in Engineering from the University of Maine and a M. S. Degree in Engineering Management from Northeastern University.  He served in the U. S. Navy during WWII.

Mr. Poynter resided in Andover, Massachusetts for several years before moving to Alton Bay twenty-one years ago.  He was employed by General Electric for thirty-two years, retiring in 1984.

 Mr. Poynter was predeceased by his wife of fifty years, Shirley W. (Smith) Poynter on January 31, 2004.

There will be no calling hours.

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2007 at 10:00AM at the New Riverside Cemetery, Alton, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the New Hampshire Humane Society, PO Box 572, Laconia, NH, 03247.
