George J. Schneider

Laconia-----George J. Schneider, 86, of 86 Dudley Circle, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Sunday, September 16, 2007.

Mr. Schneider was born August 13, 1921 in Jersey City, New Jersey, the son of George J. and Hazel (Higgins) Schneider.

Mr. Schneider served in the U. S. Navy during WWII and Korea.  He lived in Old Bridge, New Jersey for many years before moving to New Hampshire eight years ago.  He was an engineer and was employed at N.Y. Telephone (now Verizon) for many years.

Mr. Schneider was a communicant of St. Joseph Parish, Belmont, N. H.

 Survivors include his wife, Angela (Molloy) Schneider, of Laconia; a son, James Schneider, of Matawan, New Jersey; two daughters, Susan Drake of Biddeford, Maine and Jean Murphy of Underhill, Vermont; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; a brother, Robert Schneider, of Seaford, New York and many nephews and nieces. 

Calling hours were held on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 from 2:00-4:00PM and 6:00-8:00PM at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N. H.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at 10:00AM at St. Joseph Parish, Main Street, Belmont, N. H.

Burial will be at the N. H. State Veterans Cemetery, Rte. 3, Boscawen, N. H. on Thursday, September 20, 2007 at 10:00AM.
