Laconia----Henry L. Brooks, 79, of 81 Winter Street, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Wednesday, September 23, 2009.

Mr. Brooks was born October 20, 1929 in Lakeport, the son of Frank and Mary (McMurphy) Brooks. He was a lifelong resident of Laconia and had been employed at Maguire’s Tree Service for twenty-five years.

Mr. Brooks enjoyed camping, fishing, photography and collecting Indian and Deer memorabilia.

Survivors include his wife of twenty-eight years, Frances G. (Rollins) Brooks, of Laconia; a son, Tony Taylor, of Laconia; two daughters, Marie Tompkins of Belmont and Ana Tower of Laconia; seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; a brother, Robert Brooks, of Belmont; a sister, Alice Lavertue, of Gilford and several nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents, Mr. Brooks was predeceased by a brother, Patrick Brooks.

Memorial calling hours will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 from 2:00-4:00pm at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N. H.

A Memorial Service will follow the calling hours at 4:00PM also at the Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations in Mr. Brooks’ memory be made to Wilkinson-Beane, Inc., PO Box 67, Laconia, N.H. 03247 to help defray the funeral costs.
