Carolyn Elizabeth Coombs

Laconia, NH-----Carolyn Elizabeth Coombs, 92, of 211 Pleasant Street, died peacefully at home on Monday, November 12, 2007.

Born April 13, 1915 in Mio, Michigan, Carolyn was the daughter of Charles and Alice (Bartow) Zimowske.  She grew up on a farm in Mio, Michigan and graduated from Mio Agriculture High School in 1933.

Carolyn married the Rev. Albert L. Coombs in October, 1935 and moved to Center Harbor, New Hampshire where Rev. Coombs served as Pastor of the Congregational Church until 1947.  The remainder of Carolyn’s life was spent living in the Belmont and Laconia area.

Carolyn was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, knitting, reading and doing cross word puzzles.  She was actively involved in the Life Quest Church of the Christian and Missionary Alliance where she served for many years as secretary-treasurer of the Sunday School.

Carolyn is survived by a son, Robert L. Coombs of Laconia, NH; two nieces and one nephew.  She was predeceased by her husband, of thirty-two years, Rev. Albert L. Coombs, in June 1967; by her daughter, Dr. Linda Jean Coombs, of Baltimore, Maryland in October, 1987 and by her parents and brothers.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2007 from 2:00-4:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 16, 2007 at 10:00AM at the Life Quest Church, 115 Court Street, Laconia, NH.

Burial will be held at 1:30 PM in the family lot in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Elm Street, Amesbury, Massachusetts.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Life Quest Church, 115 Court Street, Laconia, NH, 03246.
